The vision for JKSikhs.com

Time and again, a need was felt by many members of the Kashmiri Sikh community to have a better presence on the Internet. A group from Komal Library, led by Bhai Jagjit Singh ji, decided to get some minds together, put together a team, and initiate this project.

Sikhs have a long history, and a unique culture and heritage, that has been part and parcel of Jammu and Kashmir for centuries. In the past, and now, in the twenty-first century, we have produced many notable personalities that contributed to the progress of Jammu and Kashmir. Members of our community are now also found in different parts of the world, many having made a good mark.

We therefore felt that this is a good time to create a consolidated base for ourselves in the online world. Beyond a simple website, we aim to develop this as a referenceable content-repository, that will grow over time and serve the community. Using the menus above, we invite readers to browse through some of the sections that are under development, but a lot more is yet to come - this will be possible with everyone's collaborative effort. This platform will be as good as you help make it!
